Hi, I am Hien Thuy Do, an international student learning Design in the University of Auckland, New Zealand.



Every design has its own messages that the designer wants to convey and this is what makes Design so meaningful and popular worldwide. One reason I am pursuing a degree in Design is that I know it will provide me with the opportunity to explore, utilize and analyze various 3D imagery and environmental visualization. This is undeniably amazing because although I have always been passionate about Design and critical thinking, I lack the skill to perform them well on computers. Therefore, by applying for this course, I will be formed on the fundamentals as well as techniques of computer animation, which will solve my problem, not to mention I can learn more about the principles of anatomy, movement and acting.

An additional cause is that I myself have always been fond of animated as well as horror movies, shows and video games and I know that these forms of entertainment do not just rely solely on good writing and memorable characters. It has to be talented animation and visual effects artists who bring these stories and people and places to life. I admire their work so much that I want to be a part of it one day. I want to be that artist who can take the written word and transform it into an entertaining and emotional experience the audience won’t be able to forget. With all these ideas I have in my mind, a Bachelor of Design degree is apparently an initial step for me to take. As for my career, I believe that once I have obtained a degree in Bachelor of Digital Design, there are several opportunities available for me in industries such as fashion, film/television, education, art & culture management and a significant more.
